Trinidad and Tobago is an island country locates in Caribbean Sea, with Venezuela to the west. Its capital is Port of Spain. It has a maritime tropical climate with with abundant rainfall. Couva–Tabaquite–Talparo is one of Trinidad and Tobago’s nine regions. It’s on the Gulf of Paria coastline on Trinidad’s West Coast, whose regional capital and commercial center is Couva.
Couva–Tabaquite–Talparo is Trinidad and Tobago’s third largest region, which is situated in Central Trinidad with Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation to the north. It averages 25 kilometres in a north-south direction and 30 kilometres in an east-west direction and has a coastline of approximately 25 kilometres. It was a major region for sugar and cocoa production from the 18th to the first half of the 20th century. The region features the Caroni–Arena Dam which supplies water to the northern regions of Trinidad and Navet Dam which supplies water to much of Central and Southern regions Trinidad.
