Luang Prabang city, is the capital of Luang Prabang Province, as well as the religious center and former capital. It was built on a peninsula formed by the Mekong and the Nam Khan River. It is the oldest city in Laos, founded over a thousand years ago. Stretching over the left side of the river, the city is surrounded by mountains and river with pleasant climate. 

Luang Prabang was enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. The city has kind people, sound ecological environment, and the well-preserved architectures mixed with different cultural traditions. Luang Prabang has rich culture heritage with 679 ancient architectures and more than 30 temples.
