On July 27th, participants of the extended 44th session of the World Heritage Committee visited Yantaishan Historic District, which is located at the southernmost end of the axis of the ancient Fuzhou city. Having witnessed the city's history of diplomatic and commercial development in modern and contemporary times, the district is preserving 163 outstanding historical buildings of the period, including foreign consulates, churches, sites of foreign firms and so on. Therefore, it is hailed as a "World Architecture Museum".
