In September 2021, a new round of transforming and upgrading program was carried out here, with focus on the integration of historical culture of Shangxiahang District and life convenience into the new town. Infrastructures for customized services have been built such as canteens for the elderly and daycare centers for the children. 

From dilapidated area to a modern community, people’s livelihood has been improved a lot. The renewal of Cangxia New Town is an epitome of Fuzhou’s urban development, as well as a model of residential development in this blessed and happy city. 

The renewal and upgrading program of Cangxia New Town in Fuzhou was awarded China Habitat Environment Award in 2023.
