During their stay in Pakistan, the expert group met with the National Disaster Management Authority, the Flood Response and Coordination Committee, the Federal Flood Commission, the Meteorological Department, the Aeronautics and Astronautics Research Council, the Water and Power Development Authority and other departments of Pakistan, and visited the worst-hit Sindh Province in the south of the country for a careful inspection to understand the relevant situations of the catastrophic 2022 flood in Pakistan, including its cause and characteristics, the flood control status, relief measures and post-disaster recovery plans. The experts also shared China's experience in flood control. Before the return, the Chinese experts exchanged views with the Pakistani relevant departments on post-disaster reconstruction and flood reduction and mitigation, providing local officials with preliminary advice and suggestions specific to recent disaster relief and medium- and long-term enhancement of flood control and disaster reduction capabilities. 

The Government of Pakistan attached great importance to the visit of the expert group. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority Inam Haider Malik, Sindh Provincial Chief Secretary Muhammad Sohail Rajput, etc., all met the Chinese expert group separately, extended welcome and gratitude to their support of the flood prevention and reduction in Pakistan, and expressed hope for their professional guidance and advice. Nong Rong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, also met with the experts. Chinese embassy and consulates in Pakistan provided strong support to the expert group during its work in Pakistan.
