

Lin Lisheng, Director of Planning and Development Bureau of the Administrative Committee of Fuzhou New Area, said that Fuzhou New Area has been promoting economic and trade cooperation with countries along the "Belt and Road", and expanding two-way investment and trade with countries and regions along the "Maritime Silk Road". For example, Fuzhou New Area has invested in Indonesia, Mauritania and other countries to build five overseas integrated bases for distant-water fishing. Also, the China-Indonesia Cooperation on the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" has become a new platform for China-Indonesia economic and trade cooperation. By the end of 2020, Fuzhou had 104 overseas investment projects on record, involving 89 enterprises in 22 countries (regions) along the "Belt and Road", with a total committed investment of US$3.713 billion.
At the same time, Fuzhou New Area speeds up in building its corridors of opening up by integrating and optimizing the layout of ports and expanding the scale of Fuzhou Airport, so as to build Fuzhou into an international shipping center of Southeast China. By the end of 2020, Fuzhou Port has 178 production berths in total, 55 of which are above 10,000 tons. In addition, Jiangyin Port has 10 "Belt and Road" routes. Fuzhou International Airport has 82 destinations, including 15 international ones. Also, it offers 119 routes with flights to 22 major international cities, such as Paris.
In addition, Fuzhou New Area has been exploring the development of major cooperation platforms. For instance, the China-Indonesia Cooperation on the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" has been listed as a key project for the construction of the core area of the Maritime Silk Road, and a framework agreement on the China-Kazakhstan International Agricultural Industry Cooperation Zone has been signed. Also, Fuzhou New Area has successfully held a series of major events, such as the Fuzhou International Tourism Festival and Cross-Strait Economic and Trade Fair to promote exchanges with countries along the "Maritime Silk Road".
