Secretariat of 21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee Participated in UCLG ASPAC Web-Share 05

On the afternoon of April 23rd, the Secretariat of United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC)  convened the “Web-Share 05 on Local Government Actions to Mitigate the Economy Impact of COVID-19 in Asia-Pacific Region”, during which member representatives made in-depth and thorough exchange. Informed by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the Secretariat of 21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee attended Web-Share 05 on time.

  

UCLG ASPAC Secretary General Dr. Bernadia presided over this Web-Share and started with referring to the latest data of global pandemic. Speakers from Local Government New Zealand, Jambi City of Indonesia, Iriga City of the Philippines, Xi’an City of China, UNDP Asia-Pacific Office and UNESCAP Bangkok Office elaborated on their experiences and measures in epidemic response, respectively. It’s all parties’ consensus that while strengthening COVID-19 prevention and control, all members should draw on available resources, take concrete actions, and make due efforts and contribution to tide over the epidemic and revitalize local economy.
