The 6th Silk Road International Film Festival Concluded

On the evening of October 20, the 6th Silk Road International Film Festival, under the guidance of the Film Board of China with Fujian Provincial People’s Government and Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government as the sponsors, concluded at Cross-Straits Olympic Sports Center in Fuzhou.
At the closing ceremony, awards of “Golden Silk Road Media Honor” were announced. Three movies including “The Wandering Earth ” (China), “Sorry, We Missed You.”(the United Kingdom/France/Belgium), “Happy as Lazzaro” (Italy/Switzerland/France/Germany)were the joint winners of the Feature Film of the year. “White Snake” (China) was granted Best Animation Award of the year and “Inner Lanscape” (Netherlands) was named as Best Documentary Award of the year. Also, Italian actor Adriano Tardiolo and British actress Katie Proctor won the awards for the most popular actor and actress of the year.

More than 400 films from over 40 countries and regions along the Belt and Road competed for the awards at the film festival, at which about 160 excellent films were screened after selection.
Centered on the whole film industry chain such as IP incubation, film production and film distribution, the film festival hosted a series of activities, attracting more than 260 film institutions from over 20 countries and regions, and collecting nearly 2,000 film and TV trading projects covering film and TV funds, film co-production, copyright transcations and other fields. In the end, a total of 32 projects worth more than 18 billion RMB (2.54 billion U.S. dollars) were signed together.
This film festival also witnessed the set-up of the “Belt and Road” Film Fund and the signing ceremony of “Silk Road Industry Alliance”. With a focus on the three major themes of establishing an exchange platform, releasing film & TV policies and showing the trading achivements of films, the film festival has increased the engagement of Belt and Road Initiative in China’s film and TV industry, cultivated the film and TV industry together with its related industrial chains, and promoted the film and culture industry to a new high.
