Dakar, situated in Cape Verde Peninsula, east coast of Atlantic, is the capital of the Republic of Senegal. Dakar is the largest city as well as the center of politics, economy, culture and traffics in Senegal. It’s also the second largest port in West Africa. As the westernmost of African land, Dakar holds a crucial geographical location. In addition, the sound harbor environment and facilities contributes to its role as an intermediate terminal in ships between Europe and South America and those between South Africa and North America. The industries in Dakar accounts for 80% of the country’s total, including oil expression, oil refining, food, textile, ship building and repair, chemistry, automobile assembly and so on. The Paris-Dakar Rallying is also well-known worldwide.
