The 2025 Cross-Strait (Fuzhou) Fisheries Week opened on June 13, along with the 17th China (Fuzhou) International Seafood & Fisheries Expo, which will run through the 15th. On the 12th, a reporter visited the exhibition area at the Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center to unveil the highlights of the expo for readers.

According to reports, this years expo has set new records in exhibition area, number of exhibitors, and product quantity, and is expected to attract 25,000 buyers.

This year's expo covers an area of 57,000 square meters and features specialized zones, including the international exhibition area, aquatic prepared foods, catering ingredients, seafood processing, the full industry chain of oceanic fisheries, and goldfish & leisure fishery sections.

At 10:30 a.m. on the 12th, the reporter saw exhibitors busy setting up and stocking booths at the Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center.

Entering Hall 4, internationalization immediately came to mind. Booths from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, Ecuador, and others showcased distinctive designs and seafood products from around the world, evoking the sense of a global village.

Compared to previous years, this years expo welcomed delegations from ten countries, marking a record number of international groups. Iran and Brunei participated for the first time, adding new international elements to the event.

Upon entering Hall 1, the familiar flavors of the sea filled the air. A special World Fishery Capital – Hai Lianjiang Pavilion showcased local specialties such as abalone, kelp, and fish balls. A massive hot pot setup for a thousand people was in place, ready to welcome visitors.

Weve stocked plenty of goods. Citizens can come here to taste fresh sea food, said an exhibitor from Lianjiang. On-site activities include a fish ball introduction exhibition, a fish ball blowing contest, parent-child fish ball football workshop, and a blind box challenge — all offering a fun and immersive experience of fish ball culture.

Hall 8s goldfish and leisure fishery exhibition area was also in the final stages of setup. This year, the goldfish section has expanded to the entire hall, said a member of the organizing committee. The goldfish exhibition area has always been popular. This year, there will be three exciting events: a goldfish competition, the inaugural Betta & Medaka Competition, and the Fuzhou Goldfish Arts & Crafts Creation Competition — promising a fun and creative feast for visitors.
