China-Indonesia Air Logistics Corridor Expands and Upgrades:
 "Balikpapan-Fuzhou-Jakarta" All-Cargo
Flight Route Lands in Fuzhou

TIME:2025-03-21 17:54

At 17:30 on March 16, the 2Y7012 flight, fully loaded with live seafood such as crabs and eels, landed smoothly at Fuzhou Changle International Airport, marking the official launch of the "Balikpapan-Fuzhou-Jakarta" all-cargo flight route. The route is scheduled to operate three flights per week, providing over a hundred tons of cargo capacity for import and export businesses, which will significantly boost trade between China and Indonesia.

"The opening of this route is a major benefit for our cross-border freight forwarding business," said Li Tianming, General Manager of Fujian Tianlihang International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd., unable to contain his excitement. He told journalists that Indonesian seafood is highly popular in the Fuzhou market. However, due to limited and fluctuating air cargo capacity, import costs for businesses were high. And it was difficult to guarantee the freshness of seafood. "Now that the direct cargo flight is operational, we are more confident in planning our imports, and both transportation costs and losses during transit will be effectively reduced."

The smooth import channel for seafood has not only attracted aquatic product companies but also brought development opportunities to downstream industries. Yu Yanzhu, President of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce in Fuqing, remarked, "After the launch of the China-Indonesia cargo route, businesses can leverage the deep processing capabilities of the China-Indonesia 'Two Countries, Twin Parks' food industrial park to achieve industrial extension and empowerment. Products can not only meet consumers demand within the province but also attract high-quality buyers and sales terminals from across the country."

Now, through the "green channel" established by the joint efforts of the Fuzhou Customs Fuqing Office and Fuzhou Changle Airport Customs, fresh seafood can enter the production process of enterprises immediately upon arrival.

At 19:00 that day, a cargo plane loaded with textiles flew toward Jakarta, marking the full operation of this two-way logistics corridor.

"The launch of this all-cargo flight effectively expands the cross-border logistics reach of domestic enterprises, helping local businesses further explore the Southeast Asian market. In the future, cross-border e-commerce goods and other categories will also be included in the export program," said Zhang Jimin, Chief of the Express Mail Section at Fuzhou Changle Airport Customs.

It is believed that to ensure the smooth opening of the route, Fuzhou Changle Airport Customs contacted airlines, looking deeper into the business demands and explaining import and export regulatory policies in detail. This effort aims to help more Fujian-based enterprises tap into the ASEAN market via this "Air Silk Road."
