21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee Website Officially Launched

The Website Launch Ceremony of 21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee (www.21cmcc.org.cn) was held in Fuzhou yesterday morning. Member delegates from many countries witnessed the great event online. With its establishment led by Fuzhou Municipal Peoples Government, it is the first international website in Fuzhou both in Chinese and English. It will add a good platform for exchanges among members and partners to carry out international cooperation of Belt and Road Initiative.

Initiated and founded jointly in 2017 by Fuzhou Municipal Peoples Government and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries within the framework of United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific, the 21st-century Maritime Cooperation Committee has actively carried out a diversity of activities concerning global maritime issues and maritime cooperation. Over the past three years of its establishment, 62 cities and organizations of 27 countries worldwide have joined the Committee, providing more opportunities for multilateral exchanges and cooperation among cities. Facing the impact of COVID-19 so far this year, the Committees international cooperation of the Belt and Road Initiative hasnt been stopped, but showed great resilience and vigor, and made a positive contribution to the implementation of UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The website of 21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee has 9 blocks and over 20 columns, including the Committee, News, Events, Exchanges and Cooperation, Maritime Fuzhou, etc. It presents in forms of videos, words and pictures to realize 24-hour digital interactions with its members. The website will expand exchange channels for the members, and help promote the in-depth cooperation in the fields of maritime science and technology and maritime ecological system protection among the Committee members. Besides, the website will actively demonstrate a modern and international city image of Fuzhou, serve as a new window for sharing maritime cooperation achievements, and build a new online bridge of exchanges and cooperation to link the cities and local governments in the Asia Pacific region and even across the world, a head from a related municipal department noted.
