Highlights of Fuzhou Port in the first quarter: cargo and container throughput increase over 8% year-on-year

Reporters learned yesterday from the Fuzhou Port Development Center in Fujian Province that in the first quarter of this year, Fuzhou Port invested 970 million yuan in port and shipping construction, accounting for 26.22% of the annual planned investment, 1.22% larger than the sequential progress ; the cargo throughput was 77.7905 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.2 %; the container throughput was 859,800 TEUs, with  a yearly increase of 8.1%, showing a "good and stable start" of the year.

At present, the construction of key projects in the port area is being proceeded efficiently, and a number of key projects have been started. In the Kemen operation area of Luoyuan Bay Port, the operation in the shoreline of berths 15 to 17 has been approved by the Fujian Provincial Department of Transportation and preliminary operation in berths 22 and 23 has been requested. Berths 6 and 7 are seeing work on the upper pier and component. The bidding for the second phase of the Luoyuan Bay Channel project has been completed and preparations for the start of construction are in progress. In Jiangyin Port, the extension project of the inbound channel has started, and preliminary work has been requested for berths 28 and 29. The pre-construction work of berth 14 is progressing as planned, and the feasibility study report on industrial production and construction projects is being prepared. 

In the first quarter, Fuzhou Port's sea-rail intermodal transport completed a total container throughput of 13,700 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%. A total of 86 ships have been launched on the "Silk Road Shipping" route. The Nanping-Mawei water container shipping route is in normal operation, and the river-sea intermodal transport in the Qingzhou operation area of the inner port of the Minjiang River has achieved a total container throughput of 1,590 TEUs.
