The 7th “Maritime Silk Road” (Fuzhou) International Tourism Festival Commences

Fuzhou, November 23rd (fjsen.com) - This morning, sponsored by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC and Fujian Provincial Peoples Government, organized by Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Fuzhou Municipal Peoples Government, the launching ceremony of 7th Maritime Silk Road (Fuzhou) International Tourism Festival was held at Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center.

Around the theme of “Maritime Silk Road Cooperation for Thriving Culture and Tourism”, the launching ceremony linked the three sessions of the international demonstration of Mindu Culture, the release of authoritative data in Fuzhou, and the integration and mutual learning along Maritime Silk Road (hereinafter referred to as MSR), via the three chapters named Prime Time for the Portal of Maritime Silk Road, “Common Destiny for All along the Maritime Silk Road, and Booming Development along the Belt and Road. The ceremony highlighted the fruitful achievements of Fuzhou, the MSR Portal, and promoted the Silk Road Spirit, for the high-quality joint contribution to the BRI.

Big Data Report on Maritime Silk Road Cultural and Tourism Development released at the ceremony demonstrated to the audience information on the current general business ecology of the cultural tourism industry, the big data of tourism achievements of key cities along the MSR, development trend of the industry, and so on, providing the industry with authoritative analysis for reference.

The Maritime Silk Road (Fuzhou) Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Summit, held after the launching ceremony, was around the theme of Cohesive Efforts to Draw up a Beautiful Blueprint for High-quality Joint Contribution to the MSR Cultural Tourism. At the Summit, domestic and foreign experts and scholars in cultural tourism industry delivered speeches on topics such as the new challenges, opportunities, and ideas of the development and international cooperation of the MSR cultural tourism in context of regular international epidemic prevention and control in the post-epidemic era. Via video link, panelists in Beijing and Fuzhou discussed the key hot topics on the integrated development of cultural tourism in context of MSR development. The summit also released the "Maritime Silk Road Declaration", adding new impetus to the rapid development of the New Development Paradigm and the full participation in the high-quality joint contribution to the MSR.

Present at the events in person or via video link were leading officials of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, representatives from the embassies and consulates of countries along the MSR, and leading officials from the Fujian Provincial Peoples Government and the Fuzhou Municipal Peoples Government, as well as representatives from sister cities of countries along the MSR, representatives from tourism departments of Chinese provinces and cities along the MSR, representatives from foreign travel agencies and other tourism businesses, and representatives from domestic tourism investors, travel agencies and other tourism businesses.

According to information provided, this years Maritime Silk Road (Fuzhou) International Tourism Festival started on November 23rd, and will last through the middle of December. Through a hybrid form of online and in-person attandence, the Festival continues to feature as an international event for culture and tourism along the MSR, and embodies more elelments of Mindu Culture. During the festival, a number of core and side events, including Experiencing Culture and Tourism: The Night of the Maritime Silk Road’”, Fujian Tourism Fair 2021: Passion for Travel, Passion for Life, and the 12th Hot Spring International Tourism Festival, etc., will be launched in counties and districts of Yongtai, Gulou, Minhou, Lianjiang, Minqing, and so on. The citizens and tourists will be able to enjoy more innovative immersive experience and favorable policies in cultural tourism.
